Hi, I’m Candice Kassin, BAC’s Marketing Communications Coordinator. Have you ever gotten a new cooling tower and the information packet on the side of the tower has already been taken by the contractor? Are you are in charge of maintaining an old tower and there is no information to be found? It can be very frustrating to maintain a unit when you don’t know anything about it.
That’s where I come in. Have you seen the exclamation point decal on the side of your unit asking you to register your cooling tower to receive your free maintenance packet? All you have to do is visit www.baltimoreaircoil.com/warranty. You will need the model number and serial number of your unit. Once you fill out all of the information and submit the form, I will send you your job file, Operation & Maintenance Manual, and a general Parts and Maintenance Guide. You even get a free t-shirt just for registering your unit!

John Sarka (July 07, 2010, 08:53 am) We are getting a green build-up on areas inside the tower, the areas in question do not get constant water following across them, in fact I would say the areas are stagnant. Is it normal to experience this? What can be done to remove the green?

HoweKool (July 07, 2010, 01:00 pm) John, This sounds like algae growth inside the tower in areas with high moisture content and sunlight. The best method to clean algae growth is to physically clean it off the unit, check with your water treatment supplier, and depending on the location, potentially add something to block the sunlight from hitting that area. Adding a covering may be an option if the fan discharge is not affected. Chris Walton
