BAC Encourages NEW LD Standard Review

BAC would like to inform both its Customers and Sales Representatives that the American Society of Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Engineers (ASHRAE) has announced the public review period for Standard 188P, Prevention of Legionellosis Associated with Building Water Systems. The proposed standard provides methods of risk management for the prevention of Legionellosis associated with centralized industrial and commercial building water systems, which would include systems that utilize evaporative cooling equipment.

The comment period for the proposed standard began on October 1, 2010 and will end November 15, 2010. The proposed standard and instructions for entering online comments can be downloaded from the following web address:

Note that you do not need to be a member of ASHRAE to make a comment on the public review draft.

BAC encourages all interested parties to review the draft of the standard and make any appropriate comments. If you know consulting engineers, building owners, or other interested parties that may be affected by this Standard in the future, we encourage you to pass this information along to them.
