We took our testing to the extreme – conducting ballistics, high impact, chemical and explosives testing to steel coated with our own TriArmor® Corrosion Protection System!

Don’t know much about BAC’s TriArmor® Corrosion Protection System? The system consists of a heavy-gauge G-235 galvanized steel substrate, fully encapsulated by a thermosetting hybrid polymer and further protected by a polyurethane barrier applied to all submerged surfaces of the cold water basin. The basin is leak tested at the factory and warranted against leaks and corrosion for 5 years.

A new industry resource document regarding liquid cooling is now available for public view in the BAC Knowledge Center! This document informs customers of the latest ASHRAE guidelines for liquid cooled data environments and includes recommendations for BAC cooling towers that can be installed with these systems. Complete with graphics, you can view the new industry resource here in the Knowledge Center.

Five New Products were introduced:

- A new cooling tower box size was introduced – PT2 12×18: With a standard two fan mechanical, the PT2 12×18 packs a big punch, providing a large capacity with critical redundancy.

- A new cooling tower product – PT2 Whisper Quiet Fan: CTI certified, ASHRAE compliant, the PT2 Whisper Quiet Fan adds to BAC’s already extensive low sound arsenal.

- A new closed circuit cooling tower - the new FXV: Providing 33%-50% more capacity, the new FXV comes in a durable array of materials of construction, including BAC’s own TriArmor(R) Corrosion Protection System.

- Two new evaporative condensers – the new CXVB and the PC2: The new CXVB and the PC2 expanded BAC’s evaporative condenser line to now include a unit for every application and situation. More capacity, more materials of construction and more internal options means that BAC’s refrigeration team has a solution for any need.

New Aftermarket Part Opportunities

- Retrofit Access Door can be added to older BAC and competitor models, making maintenance more accessible.

-Nozzles and Grommet Kits for 360™ Spray Nozzles were developed and released, making maintenance and replacement easier, and helping regain lost capacity on older, less maintained cooling towers.

Announced Cooling Tower World – another place to find information about aftermarket parts that BAC sells for BAC’s and competitors’ units.

PT2 Whisper Quiet Fan

The newest addition to BAC’s complete line of sound reduction solutions is the PT2’s Whisper Quiet Fan. When used in conjunction with water silencers, the PT2 can mitigate water and fan sound to meet even the most challenging sound specifications. Combined with a minimal footprint and a variety of available accessories, the PT2 is very versatile and is an efficient solution for installations with space constraints.

Features and Benefits of the Whisper Quiet Fan on the PT2 include:

- 12-15 dBA sound reduction

- CTI certified thermal capacity

- High solidity axial fan decreases fan speed, which proportionally decreases sound levels

Here at BAC, we are always excited when people come to visit. Customers, representatives, contractors, engineers, maintenance personnel – we get excited about everybody! And the more the merrier, which is in particular why we have been so excited this week! This week, we have 17 reps in our office from around US and Latin America for the “BAC Success in the Aftermarket” class! Free Cooling Example

Many air conditioning and industrial cooling systems require chilled water throughout the year. During fall, winter, and spring a system’s cooling tower or closed circuit cooling tower can produce water cool enough to eliminate the need to operate a chiller .This is known as free cooling or evaporative chilling. Free cooling can be designed into new chilled water systems or retro-fitted into existing systems. Even in warm climates, this process can produce energy savings. Money is saved by operating a cooling tower fan motor, which consumes about 0.2 kW/ton, rather than a chiller compressor motor, consuming about 0.6 to 0.8 kW/ton.
