Basin Heater Controls

BAC offers a variety of heater controls, control kits and heater connection plates. Standard controls consist of a thermostat and bulb well set at 40ºF to cycle the heater off and on as well as a float switch used as a low-water cutout to keep the heater from energizing and burning out if the basin volume is too low. These items, along with a connection fitting, are available in a variety of retrofit kits. Contact your Local BAC Representative for more information. For a more complete and easier-to-install package, BAC also offers a control panel package available with various combinations of contactor, disconnect, fuse, or circuit breakers to meet your needs.

The standard package consists of:

• A NEMA 4 enclosure with pre-mounted electrical hubs
• A single probe combination temperature controller and low-water cutout with bulkhead fitting (only one hole to locate and drill) heater contactor and 24-volt Class 2 control circuit transformer

BAC basin heaters are rated in kW of energy used. To select the proper contactor size for 3 phase heaters, use the following formula:
