Some centrifugal fan units, with solid shafts, have an intermediate sleeve bearing to control shaft flexing. For ease of replacement, BAC offers a “split housing” sleeve bearing which allows the bearing to be replaced without removing the entire rotating assembly, saving time and money.
It is recommended that all fan shaft bearings be replaced at the same time for optimum performance and reduced maintenance downtime.
DO NOT use high-pressure grease guns as they may rupture the bearing seals. Grease bearings every 2000 hours of operation or every three months, whichever comes first. Use the type of grease sleeve bearing oil recommended in the fan shaft bearing maintenance page.
