Solid Shafts

• Ground and polished for easy bearing and drive component installation

Shafts are made from specially selected materials and are ground and polished to ensure easy component replacement. Solid shafts are also available in corrosion-resistant materials such as nickel plating or stainless steel to better withstand the rigors of induced draft cooling tower service.

BAC Maintenance Tip

When replacing the shaft, complete the job by replacing the other driven, power-handling components. These parts must be removed during the disassembly and may not be suitable for re-use. Replacing these components at this time will save downtime and labor in the long run. These components will usually include fan and sheave bushings, bearings and belts. If the unit has centrifugal fan wheels, air inlet rings may also be required.
