Scale build-up on coils and fill media is a common cause of deteriorated thermal performance. Many older units were supplied with spray water distribution systems consisting of many small orifice nozzles. Newer technology uses fewer nozzles with a large non-clogging orifice to give a better, more complete spray coverage that not only reduces scale, but also reduces the need for cleaning nozzles. These nozzles are available separately or in complete spray distribution kits.
